Licensed Child and Family Therapist

Nicola Jefferson
Nicola began her career with children and families in 2008 working across the public and private sector. This has included providing assessments and support to families through child care proceedings in the capacity of a children's Social Worker (Social Work England).

Nicola's skills and experience extend to working therapeutically, and she has a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy. Nicola is a registered Play Therapist (PTUK) and works with children aged 4-12 years.
​
In her therapeutic work Nicola incorporates the Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI) model to further support children who have experienced trauma and experience regulation and relational difficulties. Nicola also delivers the Just Right State (JRS) programme.​
Matt Kilham
Matt started supporting young children with autism in school and residential settings before supporting children and families through Children's Social Care. Matt has a keen interest in supporting relationships where there is a diagnosis of autism, and has a Diploma from the University of Birmingham in Autism. In 2019, Matt completed an MSc in Attachment Studies from Roehampton University and he has reliability to code the Child and Adolescent Play Assessment (CAPA) and the Meaning of the Child Interview (MOTC) which he uses to guide his support and interventions.

In his work, Matt uses the Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI) model and the Just Right State (JRS) programme, along with a video-based mentalising intervention to support children and their families, where the child has experienced trauma and is experiencing relational and regulation difficulties. ​


Emma Halls
Emma began her career with children and families in 2009. From working with families moving through both public and private law proceedings, supporting young victims of crime and managing Milton Keynes City Council's parenting service, Emma has both therapeutic and direct work experience.

In 2016, Emma set up her own family wellbeing support consultancy and offered a range of therapeutic services to local families, schools and organisations.
​
Emma is a qualified Therapeutic Play Practitioner (PTUK), and an accredited facilitator of evidence-based programmes for children and caregivers including Positive And Adverse Childhood Experiences (PAACE), The Nurture Programme and Protective Behaviours.​​​​
